What this site is

News Alternative is an illustrative media-literacy tool. It takes real, current headlines and generates AI-written rewrites showing how the same facts might be framed by left-leaning and right-leaning coverage. It is not a news outlet, does not perform original reporting, and the rewrites are not the actual coverage of any real outlet. Full detail on how it works is on the About & Methodology page.

Acceptable use

By using this site, you agree not to:

No warranty, use at your own judgment

The site is provided "as is." The daily headline pipeline is automated and can make mistakes; the AI-generated rewrites and framing notes are illustrative examples of technique, not fact-checked analysis or a claim about how any real outlet actually covered a story. Don't rely on this site as a primary source for news, and don't treat the "divergence score" or framing notes as a validated measurement of anything. See the FAQ for more on the limits of what's here.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, News Alternative and whoever operates it aren't liable for any damages arising from your use of the site, reliance on its content, or inability to access it — including if the daily pipeline fails, the paste-in tool is unavailable, or content turns out to be inaccurate.

Changes to the site or these terms

Features described in the About page or elsewhere (like the weekly digest email) may launch, change, or be removed at any time. This page will be updated if the terms themselves change; the "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
